Smile Designing

According to research, usually the first place people look at when you meet is your smile. In an unharmonious smile, your eyes immediately focus on one’s teeth. We all do it, it is part of our social nature. In a harmonious smile, your brain records that person has a pleasant smile and directs attention to his eyes. Nothing can express personality, energy and confidence as much as a healthy and radiant smile. Your smile is your self-confidence.

If you say yes to one or more of the following questions, you also need an aesthetic dentistry practice.

  • Would you like to have someone else’s smile?
  • Do you avoid smiling when your photo is being taken?
  • Is there anything that bothers you in your smile?
  • Do your gums appear too much to bother you when you smile?
  • Do you think that the treatments (filling, vaneers, etc.) that have been applied to your teeth are not harmonious?
  • Would you like your teeth to be whiter?
  • Do you have crowding and / or irregularities in your teeth?
  • Are there gaps between your teeth?
  • Do you have many fillings or fractures in your anterior teeth?

How is smile design done?
Dentist specialists of Dent Dream Dental Clinic make the following evaluations before performing applications to our patients:

Age
Today, many products and applications make us look younger. Rejuvenating the smile is one of the most effective of these applications. Over the years, we can observe that the color of our teeth darkens and their length becomes shorter and our smile becomes faint. By means of aesthetic dentistry, your smile and your teeth can be completely natural and ideal.

Over the years our upper lip hangs down with the effect of gravity. Nose tip and jaw tip approaches to each other. This is, the lower part of the face becomes shorter. This also prevents us from chewing well enough.  In addition, if there is a clenching and grinding problem, the teeth will quickly become shorter and often break. Teeth start to look bad, fail to function, and in addition, problems occur in the jaw joint, all of which makes the person look older.

In order to eliminate these problems and to treat the patient both for health and aesthetically, the correct treatments are applied in a timely and sufficient manner, the lips are recovered, the lines around the lips are reduced and the teeth appear at the correct level, so smile lift is performed. This process is also called dental antiaging.

Gender
There are significant differences between male and female smile. Details such as the harmony of the teeth with the face and the choice of color are evaluated. The anatomy of men and women is different and this difference also affects smile design. In men, the lines are chiselled and in women the lines more indistict. In women, the smile features are curved , whereas in men the smile features are  straight. In females, the corners of the teeth are  rounded, while in men, these corners are more flat. In females, the front two teeth are more prominent and longer.

Face shape
The smile design is planned by sometimes capturing a proportional symmetry between the shape of the face and the shape of the teeth and sometimes the opposite is aimed. So if you have an oval face , the form of your teeth is oval or very close to oval Sometimes we use illusions to disrupt this harmony. The person’s face can be square, round or too long to disturb him/her. When designing a smile in such people, a smile design is planned to help neutralize the disadvantage of the face shape.

Skin color
In aesthetic dentistry, skin color is one of the most important factors in determining the color of the application. For people with a dark skin color </ RTI> very light-colored, bright, attractive teeth cannot provide a harmonious and beautiful smile whereas people with lighter skin color  these teeth will look  more natural and  the harmony of the smile can be provided.

Dental Analysis
The problems are identified by determining  the slopes, the lengths, the colors of the teeth according to the important anatomical points in the face and in the mouth. Aesthetic dentistry treatments are diversified according to the needs of the teeth and shared with the patient.

Color of Teeth
The process changes according to the color level. If we are uncomfortable with only the color of our teeth, it is most prudent to apply whitening process first . In some cases, the teeth do not react well to the whitener, or because the present color is too dark, sufficient whiteness cannot be achieved. If the desired color cannot be achieved, one of the treatments to do is porcelain lamination. In cases with advanced coloration, the procedure may be whitening first and then lamination.

Gingival Analysis Ideal, healthy gingival;

  • Light pink
  • No bleeding during brushing or self-bleeding
  • Symmetrical enough in the smile line,
  • Gum with no loss of papilla (the gingival section that fills the gap between the two teeth).

Even the most beautiful teeth cannot look attractive unless they are framed by healthy gums. Non-aesthetic gums can be corrected with treatments and small operations on your gums.

Unhealthy gums: Because of periodontal diseases, gums appear red, swollen and shiny. They should be treated before aesthetic dentistry.

Gingival recession: As a result of gingival recession, some teeth may appear too long, root surfaces are exposed. In this case, gums can be treated by covering these gaps with soft tissue grafts.

Irregular gingival edges: The gums at the crown of the tooth may be too high or too low in some teeth. Before aesthetic procedures, gingival structure should be idealized.

Gum pigmentation: As a result of an injury or naturally, gums may have different colored spots. If they are within the smile line, their elimination will have a positive effect on aesthetics.

Black – brown spots in the gums are related to the pigments in the body and pose no harm for health. However, it is possible to remove the spots that are unaesthetic by using ‘peeling ’. .

The process of peeling performed by Dermatologists can be applied in such areas in the mouth. The skin in the mouth is also composed of layers. These layers are thinned and peeled gradually with laser; the upper stained skin can be removed to achieve a more aesthetic look.

Lip Analysis
High or low lip lines may cause aesthetic problems. The physician designs the smile by performing all lip analysis before treatment. The support of the teeth to the lip and the position of the incisors are one of the most important factors in creating a smile. Lip-tooth relation is very important in the smiling position. The lip edges being up or down may completely change the expression.

Botox – Bishectomy – Dermal Filling Applications
In addition to dental and intraoral applications, in some cases, we may need to get support from dermatology and / or plastic surgery branches in order to integrate the aesthetic image with the face. In such cases, we work with specialist physicians in the contracted clinics.
